Prayer Focus- Proclamation over JuneauThe week (leading up to the writing of this article) started with such fervor in the morning prayer time. Following the text of Ezekiel 37:4-6 “Then he said to me, "Prophesy to these bones and say to them, 'Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD! This is what the Sovereign LORD says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.' " Our proclamation over Juneau is to “Live!” Life is in contrast to death; in other words all areas of our existence are to be filled with vitality and strength. Romans 8:11 “And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.” (New International Version) The Greek word used is, Zoopoieo: 1. cause to live, make alive, give life by spiritual power to arouse and invigorate. a. to restore to life b. to give increase of life: thus of physical life c. of the spirit, quickening as respects the spirit, endued with new and greater powers of life metaphorically, of seeds quickened into life, i.e. germinating, springing up, growing John the Apostle prayed, “Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.” (3 John 1:2 [New American Standard Bible]) The word used in the Greek is, Euodoo– meaning: grant a prosperous and expeditious journey, to lead by a direct and easy way. This word is derived from two words, Eu and Hodos. Eu: to be well off, fare well, prosper acting well. Hodos: properly, a traveled way, road- metaphorically. a way (i.e. manner) of thinking, feeling, deciding. In the proclaiming of life we are speaking prosperity to each one’s way of thinking, feeling, and decision-making process. Life can only come from the Giver of life, who is God. And He has chosen to give life through His Son, Jesus. Jesus then assigns this miraculous intervention to the Holy Spirit. Come Holy Spirit and fill our lives with true life! Fill our city with Zoopoieo, life, like never before. We ask for a powerful visitation of Spirit-life in all the churches that are preaching Christ and Him crucified. I also ask God to fill you with life even as you read this article and again hear his word.
